Simulators

Flight Simulator Center
The flight simulators at American Academy of Aeronautics are located at the Carl Mather campus in the Simulator Center. Each flight simulator and training device provides a direct representation of each of the categories and classes of Aircraft flown at the Academy.

Visual Motion Databases
The “realism” of a simulation depends heavily on the accuracy of the optical and visual depiction. The simulators at American Academy of Aeronautics use very detailed and elaborate visual motion databases for the graphic depiction of airports, landmarks, and terrain.

Simulated Flights
To ensure that each simulated flight resembles a real flight as closely as possible, exact dimensions and data such as important geographic points, ground references, and navigation facilities are entered into these databases.

Flight Simulator Makers
The subsequent projected view is what one sees when one looks out the cockpit window. The cockpit enclosure environment and the clean flight display hardware is adapted and calibrated by Precision Flight Controls, Inc. (PFC) at its modeling stations.

Continual Visual Database Updates
We continually update our real-world visual databases so that any structural changes made at airports or near takeoff and landing runways are reflected in the simulator presentations.

Research, Development and Care
Precision Flight Controls, Inc., an FAA qualified flight simulator manufacturer, performs the development, care and routine maintenance of the flight simulators at American Academy of Aeronautics.

Adaptation
Our simulators are adapted so that they reflect our fleet's systems, environments, and cockpit layouts, as well as the airlines’ procedures.

Simulators Categories
Airplane categories flown at American Academy of Aeronautics include:

  • Cirrus II: primary single engine trainers with visual outside system.

  • Module Flight Deck MFD: intermediate special performance single and multi engine
instrument trainer, cockpit environment, visual outside system front & side view.

  • Boeing 737: Jet cockpit, overhead display, visual motion system, crew environment, flight management system FMS.
